Summary
Engager helps you grow on LinkedIn by drafting and publishing comments from your own LinkedIn account, in your voice, at a human pace. To do that we need to store your account details, a connection to your LinkedIn account, and the content the service works with. We collect the minimum needed to run the service. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use tracking cookies — only the essential cookies that keep you signed in.
What data does Engager collect?
- Account data — your name, email address, and a hashed password, or your Google / Microsoft identity if you sign in with those providers. We never see or store your Google or Microsoft password.
- LinkedIn connection — Engager connects to your LinkedIn account through Unipile, a third-party connectivity provider. The session credentials for that connection are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) in our database. We do not store your LinkedIn password.
- Content the service works with — posts discovered on LinkedIn for your campaigns, the comments and replies drafted and published on your behalf, comments received on your posts, and basic public profile information about the authors of those posts (name, headline, location) used to decide relevance.
- Knowledge you provide — documents, notes, product descriptions, and writing samples you add so that drafts sound like you and know what you know (your “Brain”). If you point Engager at your website, we fetch and store the pages you choose.
- Usage and billing data — how many drafts and posts the service produced for you, AI usage metering, and subscription status. Payments are processed by Stripe; we store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, never card numbers.
What about other people’s LinkedIn data?
To find posts worth engaging with, Engager processes publicly available LinkedIn content — posts, comments, and public profile details of the people you engage with. This data is used solely to operate your campaigns (relevance filtering, drafting context, and avoiding over-engaging with the same person), is retained only as long as needed for that purpose, and is never sold, shared for marketing, or used to build profiles for any other purpose.
How is AI involved?
Engager sends the content described above — discovered posts, your knowledge documents, your writing samples, and drafts — to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to filter posts, draft comments, and compute text embeddings. Under the API terms we use, these providers do not train their models on this data. If you drive Engager with your own AI assistant (for example through our MCP integration), that assistant’s provider terms apply to what your assistant processes.
Where is data stored?
Application data lives in a Postgres database hosted by Neon, with per-tenant row-level isolation. The web application runs on Vercel; background workers run on servers we operate. Every tenant’s credentials are encrypted at rest as described above.
Who do we share data with?
Only with the processors strictly necessary to run the service:
- Neon — Postgres database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Unipile — connectivity to your LinkedIn account.
- Anthropic and OpenAI — AI drafting, filtering, and embeddings.
- Stripe — subscriptions, invoices, and payments.
- Upstash — background job scheduling.
- Resend — transactional email (e.g. queue-refill reminders).
- Firecrawl — fetching website pages you ask us to import.
- Google and Microsoft — optional sign-in providers.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How long do we keep data?
For as long as your account is active. When you delete your account — or ask us to — your organization’s data (campaigns, drafts, knowledge, the encrypted LinkedIn connection) is deleted from production storage within 30 days. Stripe retains billing records per its own policy and applicable financial regulations.
How do I delete my data?
Disconnect your LinkedIn account at any time from Settings, which removes the stored connection. To delete your account and all associated data, email hello@getengager.com from the address on file. We will confirm completion by email.
Your rights under GDPR / UK GDPR
If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar rights, you may request access to, correction of, portability of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Email hello@getengager.com to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
International data transfers
Our processors operate in the United States and the European Union. If you are outside those regions, your data may be transferred there for processing. We rely on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and on the processor commitments of the providers listed above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in the dashboard, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
